Dynon Avionics released a Revision B of the SkyView Display Circuit Board Replacement Technical Service Bulletin on March 4, 2013. This Revision B supersedes and replaces an earlier version of this bulletin that was originally released on Feb. 11, 2013.

The original bulletin specified a SkyView-based on-screen detection method to determine whether or not a display was affected. However, displays that were thought to be unaffected based on the on-screen detection method may actually be affected by this bulletin.

Therefore, ALL SkyView displays, whether or not they were already checked against the original service bulletin on this topic, must be re-checked using the updated instructions that are available at SkyView Display Circuit Board Replacement - R

I am building an RV-12 and received the avionics kit from Van's in the last 30 days. The Skyview, along with the rest of the avionics won't be installed and functional until at least the end of the year.

Is there a way I can determine the status of my Skyview in the meantime?

If you've received it recently, it's not very likely to be affected. That said, what Trev said works.

I have one I bought nearly two years ago and never installed - sat in the box. I did as Trev suggests.
Powered up fine. Passed the first test a few weeks ago but not the second. Got the RMA. :) Will go back in it's original box.
Well, it's scheduled to go in this summer so I guess I'll have a "new" unit.

Thank you for the input. I'll run it on the bench. I am surprised, however, that this is not by serial number.

I have a unit that the bulletin determined needs to be returned. If I complete the SB and obtain the RMA how long will the shipping label be valid for. The unit is working fine at present and would like to return in about a two months or so assuming it continues to operate normally.

Not sure about shipping label expiry, and our shipping dept is gone for the day. We'd suggest you don't request the RMA until you're ready to actually return the unit, though. The bulletin will be in effect indefinitely.

Hello Support

I'm happy to report that my Skyview ( SV-700 ) doesn't need to be send back to the shop.

Just checked it and everything is fine as per your tool on your web site.

Eventough it was bought in Dec 2010, It is flawless..

Thanks
