Good day! A question for you: I am contemplating the purchase of one of these units for installation in a self-launch sailplane. This means that the unit would be used on takeoff; then shut down for several hours; then turned back on again for the approach.
Now the question: is there any problem with reacquisitioning of any data or...???? -That would preclude the unit's use in this manner??

Hi Nick,

From the description of your situation, the EFIS-D10A should work just fine. It requires virtually no time to acquire data on startup and is ready to use within 5 seconds of switching on power. We have a variety of ways of doing this, but the main point is that to you, there is no fuss or waiting for the unit to start up in a variety of situations.

Nick,
Also be aware that the EFIS-D10A only draw about 8W of power while we are on. It doesn't take a large battery to keep an EFIS on for many hours, so it may be possible for you to use the EFIS on more than takeoff and landing.
