Dear Dynon Support,

In times gone by, when a new feature was going to be released you would kindly post here a few pics of what the screen would look like with that new feature enabled.

I realize the autopilot is a very new feature, and its enabling software is still very much in Beta mode. For those of us who are chomping at the bit to get A/P functionality in our airplanes it would be hugely helpful to have a few pictures (with proper caveats about this being Beta-only software and subject to change) to act as a reference. Besides further whetting our appetites it would give us the ability to see how the A/P functions are proposed to appear on the EFIS, and how the controls are proposed to work. This would then allow some of us to decide whether we will stick with this basic functionality, or whether we really need to add the AP74 or AP76 autopilot controllers.

As in the past, indicating the data contained in the pictures is "preliminary", "subject to change", "not cast in stone" etc would ensure those of us with a huge curiosity bump would be satisfied, and at the same time provide Dynon with an opportunity to continue to alter the design as needed, and perhaps even incorporate feedback from those who look at the pictures.

The posting of pre-release pictures proved to be a very useful tool in developing the "new" EFIS display format. I'm certain the experience with posting pre-release pictures of the EFIS-based autopilot interface would be similarly beneficial to both customers and Dynon alike.

Pretty please, with a cherry on top?!?! ;)

Re: Information Request: Autopilot Interface Pictu

We're really short-staffed back at the fluorescent-lit cave while some of us are at Sun n Fun. We'll try to get some pictures up soon.

A few basics:

Note that all of the more advanced functionality requires the AP76 - its UI will be exclusively controlled via that AP76.

As for the base model, with or without the AP74, which will be available initially: Status is annunciated at the bottom of the screen. When servos are installed, an AP menu gets primetime placement where the BUGS menu currently is. The BUGS menu moves inside the AP menu, since they're part of the things you set on the AP along with mode selection and engage/disengage controls.
