Received my Skyview system today and began install in my RV8.
I have two 7" displays (one for pilot and one for copilot)
Questions:
1. Can I wire the copilot display audio out in parallel with my audio panel music input plug? The music input is a non-switching input into a GMA340 audio panel. Do you think this will cause distortion?
2. Am I correct in assuming it does not matter which panel the ADHARS is connected? If the display it is connected to fails will the operating display provide PFD info?
3. I'm planning on connecting one network line from the pilot display to a nine lug terminal strip to allow easy addition of future DYNON skyview products without having to add multiple splitter cables. The ADHARS will be connected directly to the second network DB9 on the display to ensure that connection is independent of any terminal strip connection failures. Do you see any problems with this setup?
One advantage is that I am also using my D10A as a primary HSI head and B/U EFIS and currently have the Auto Pilot connected to it using a terminal strip for the legacy DSAB bus. I can easily swap the AP DSAB lines over to the SV network terminal strip when that feature becomes available. Thoughts?
BTW...both panels dropped right into place in my precut panel holes based upon your mechanical drawings and were installed in less than 5 minutes each. Both panels wired to power and gnd 30 minutes later along with b/u batteries. Installation is a snap and I'm very impressed with the quality so far. Thanks! I'll send pics ASAP.
