I am rebuiling a Douglas DC-3, and am interested in putting 2 D-100s on it (you traditionalist will squirm), and I have a few questions:

1) can I share the OAT, AOA/Pitot tube thru DSAB?
2) is DSAB a unit I need to buy, or is it simply a way to connect both D-100s?
3) can I get GPS data to the D-100 from a Garmin 396?
4) I have an old set of Collins Comms & Navs. Will the Navs work w/ the D-100?

I would really appreciate your comments.

You can share OAT via DSAB, but not the pressure data. You will need to T the Pitot/Static/AoA.

If you are just interested in two displays, not actual redundancy, you could install a D120, which is an engine monitor, and always leave it on the EFIS screen. In that case, all data would be shared between the units.

DSAB is just two wires you run between all your units.

We can read data from a 396 with just one wire connected.

We have a unit called the HS34 that may be able to read data from the NAV units, but we have not had great luck with older devices. You are welcome to purchase the unit and if it doesn't work for you we will take it back for a full refund.
