Hi Dynon,

Are there any issues that need to be considered around vibration isolation for the Skyview. I am mounting mine in an RV7.

I realise that vibraiton in general is an issue, but if I do a standard panel build as per vans with no isolation mounts for the panel will the display cope OK with this?

Cheers
Eddie

The vast majority of customers have no vibration related issues with any of our products.

If you do have any issues that are vibration-related, you would most likely see them as oddly performing attitude or autopilot. If you did suspect a vibration issue, the thing that you would want to isolate/damp is the device that has the ADAHRS in it. That's the actual display in the D10A/D100/D6/D60/D180, and the ADAHRS module for SkyView.

With SkyView, we've seen a couple (I think two, literally) of cases where the ADAHRS has been vibrating enough to create enough "G" noise to cause the AP to think that the G limiter has been reached. In one case, this was simply because the shelf that the ADAHRS wasn't rigid enough, leading that shelf to resonate like a drum head or diving board.
