Is the EDC neccessary ?

I plan on using the D-180 in my aircraft so I'm not even sure if this is the proper forum for this question since I don't really see a D-180 forum I'll ask here : Is the EDC neccessary for the D-180 ? or is it just something that is nice to have ?

The EDC is required with the D180 if you want to show heading on the unit. The EDC is included in the $3200 price of the D180 however.

The D100 and D180 do not have internal magnetic sensors but both come with the EDC. The D10A has internal sensors and the EDC is optional.

We don't really have a D180 forum since the D180 is literally a D100 and a D120 in the same box, so the appropriate place to ask questions is in the forum that relates to your specific question.
