Is the FAA letting you make your airplane safer?

The FAA has issued a draft of its proposal for easing the installation and use of "Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment" (NORSEE). In addition to the relaxed rules we have seen recently for angle-of-attack indicators and attitude indicators, this includes a fairly large range of equipment and systems, including traffic annunciation, weather depiction, terrain advisory systems, autopilots, fire extinguishers, and crash-protection equipment such as seat belts, harnesses, airbags, and energy-absorbing seats.

I wonder if DYNON will get their line of excellent equipment designated as NORSEE so certificated airplanes can install them in addition to required instruments.
