RV-8
Holy Cow…I've been spinning in circles trying to figure out where to start with my avionics install on my RV-8. I'm planning a Skyview 10" with VX-Pro along with Dynon accessories to include: SV-XPNDR-261, ADS-B, SV-ARINC-42, SV-COM-C25, SV-GPS-250, autopilot pitch and roll, EMS-220.
So far I think the A/P pitch will end up at the bellcrank in the aft compartment, which is where the transponder and ADHRS unit will go, too.
Sooo… ADHRS must be 2' from the pitch servo, right? Or can it be only 1'? What about the transponder location? I think it should be placed near it's antennae, which could easily be on the lower, aft fuselage, but am unsure about other antenae restrictions for the ADS-B, and Com-radio. I'm planning to mount the GPS antennae on the top of the dash.
What about seperation of power and data wires running to/from the aft area. Which ones need to be kept away from each other? Battery will be up front.
I'm at the point where I'd like to get the brackets and wires all installed before I permanently rivet the turtledeck on.
No VOR/ILS to worry about here. But what about the new ELTs…any antennae restriction with those?
Man, I'd really like to see a diagram for where all these things 'should' go for a VFR plane.
Any quick solutions out there?
Thanks.
