On the last leg of my trip to Cozumel Mexico (Over Water) I got an indication of higher than normal oil pressure. 12 minutes later landed at Cozumel international to find my cowling covered in oil. Lost 3 quarts of oil. The culprit was the Kavlico oil pressure sender. Leaking between metal body and connector. The engine Continental C85 normal oil pressure runs 35 psi. Has anyone had this happen with this type of sender? And if so, are we waiting for an aircraft to go down before something is done??

Pressure sensor failures are rare, and we definitely want to hear more about this. Can you PM your best contact information? Or call us at 425-402-0433 when you have a chance.
