My goal: *KIS* control/status of my Garmin Virb Camera(s) from the cockpit.
I used a raspberry pi to control the cameras. Garmin has a great WiFi API available that plays well with the Raspberry Pi and can be easily coded in Python.
Using a generic RPi prototype board and a simple circuit I designed on it, I was able to send the status information to my Dynon SkyView displays. Each camera uses a contact input. The status information is determined by the voltage level as seen on Dynon's EMS module.
