Knob philosophy - Knobology?

One thing that frustrates me in the current design is that the CRSR joystick will jump from knob 1 to knob 2, depending on whether the MAP is displayed, etc. For some reason, with a single screen this wasn't an issue. Probably because my screen was fixed in place. With two screens, with different layouts, etc. it is doubly confusing.

Scenario 1. MAP knob on left and Multi-function knob on right. I do something like MAP -> INFO then try to scroll down to enter an airport ID only to find the MAP knob switched to right side and CRSR knob is now on left side. Confusion?!?! Now, i have to make sure i confirm what knob i am touching and whether it got switched around on me. Not good.

I suppose if i sit down and play with things i can figure out why it changed. I think its because on the copilot side, sometimes that screen is dedicated full MAP and other times it is half MAP and half ENGINE, etc. etc. Anyway, when that happens the CRSR knob moves around. Partly because SV tries to keep MAP knob closes to the position of the MAP screen. If in fullscreen, the display gets split between INFO page and MAP, depending on layout, blah blah blah down this rabbit hole.... Hopefully, you get the picture.

Thus, with a second screen, i was hoping to dedicate 4 functions on each of my 4 knobs i have across 2 displays. It's not working so well. Again because of the way the screen layout moves around.

Solutions.

1. After typing up the above, i realize that my frustration is narrowed to the MAP page and the way it displays the INFO page. When you hit INFO, it divides the MAP display again. The MAP knob tries to move to the side of the display closest to the MAP. If in full-screen, this may in fact swap the position of the MAP knob. Not good.

Thus, solution #1 could be as simple as NOT moving the MAP knob position when the INFO page is displayed. That could solve 90% of my issue right there.

2. I do not have the SV-KNOB panel yet. However, I would love to see a couple other dedicated knobs or joysticks: MAP range and CRSR joystick.

The G1000 Perspective (latest greatest Cirrus avionics) has these dedicated knobs.
COM NAV BARO RANGE FMS HDG CRS ALT "multifunction" and RANGE

Excluding COM and NAV, we have 7 dedicated knobs:
BARO RANGE FMS HDG CRS ALT RANGE

and one multifunction knob for:
FMS XPDR COM NAV and I think CRS

Anyway you get the idea. It has a lot of dedicated knobs and joysticks. It works for Cirrus/Garmin.

PS. i am at home and not sitting in front of panel. will try to give another update on this after sitting in the plane to refresh my memory.
