1. What should I do with the wires from pins 11, 12 and 30?
2. Pin 31 is an audio alert. What do I do with it? I'm using both D10 EFIS and EMS. I don't have the green wire, pin 18 from the EFIS connected to anything either because I didn't know what to do with it. I have a Garmin 396 connected to the EFIS with data feed and have the two Dynon units now connected by the pins 4, 5 and 34, 35. Should I have one or both audio outputs going to what to have alerts?
3. Am not using pin 16 ground wire. Should I just remove it from the connector or seal the end and leave it under the panel?
Thank you for all the help!!

1) Those are the wires that should be pinned to a D9 PC connector for updates. Though, we haven't had one in a while, so you could leave these unconnected and bundled up and make that D9 connector if we ever have an update that you opt to install. See page 4-2 of the EMS-D10 installation manual for the connection detail (available from http://docs.dynonavionics.com)
2) If you have an intercom or audio panel with an unmuted input, it can provide audio alerts. See page 4-5 of the installation manual for the details.
3) Either works.

Thank you for the answers. I have a used EMS unit. Are there updates before now I should get?
And, with all due respect, the contents of page 4-5 seem to refer to AP74 and HS34 with very little clarity on what to do with neither of these....?

If you don't have them, you don't need to worry about the AP74 and HS34 instructions.

Whether or not there are any updates available depends on what software is on the product. When you have it powered up, go to SETUP > VRSION. Then compare that with the release notes at http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software.html for your products to see if they are older than what you have on your products. If they are, you should update them.
