Layout editor - computer application

just bought dynon skyview and started to customize it, it would be much easier if there would be an PC application do arrange layout of instruments on skyview then save the file on usb and upload it to skyview. Also if there is multiple users of one skyview it would even be possible to customize it before each flight - every user would have own setup file on usb and just upload it. because if i want to arrange EMS instruments it takes a lot of time and it is not so user friendly to arange instruments via joystick.

But for normal setups this is basically a one time process, even with some fine-tuning by hand editing of the configuration file this is doable, I understand that Dynon only has a limited amount of manpower available and I would prefer if they used all of that to improve/test/verify their core product. Making such an external configuration editor with a proper user interface on a PC is a considerable effort. If there are one or more users that really think they need such a product then they might be able to develop it themselves as it doesn't interface with Dynon except for the configuration file it creates.

Not a one time process. It's an ongoing PITA for me. I'm trying to find the one true and perfect setup for me, and it's taking awhile. This is the beauty of experimental aviation! I just wish we had a PC app to simplify the process.

The Skyview display setup interface works but is limiting to what can be done. While we're waiting for someone to come up with the PC App this document has some helpful hints that are available for hand coding the gauges.

Here are some examples of what can be done with hand coding the display setups. The arcs and bars can be thicker or thinner, and the arcs can start and end at any angle. You can also remove the name so the volts gauge doesn't say VOLTS twice.

On the bottom left picture, how were you able to overlay ems data on the pfd page?

That's likely a photoshop artifact. You can't do that on a real SkyView.

That's correct. I was just comparing the two ways of showing fuel and pasted one view onto another.
