Loss of Skyview Configuration/Communication

Has anyone else experienced this situation.

Have SV1000 and SV700 screens, single ADAHRS, EMS, SV-GPS-250, and two SV-32 servos. All running 2.0 F/W.

On multiple occasions, at power up, Skyview Net device is not seen on the bus. This has been either the EMS or one of the servos. Sometimes multiple power cycles of one or the other screens brings back the device. At other times it has been necessary to repeat the configuration/detect process to bring back the device.

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

I have two SV1000, two ADHARS and EMS. Servos not configured yet as I have only just discovered the firmware needs upgrading to 5.3 using a D100. I have experienced 'loss' of the EMS several times and had to reconfigure to get it back. As I am still setting the system up I put it down to not always powering up both screens. Maybe its something else ?

Richard,

I think you are seeing the same thing as me WRT the EMS.

My understanding is that once you have Skyview F/W Vers 2.0 in all the units (disregard the servos for now) and the configuration set up for all these you should not have this problem. For example you should be able to turn on either screen by itself and see both ADAHRS and EMS on that screen. You could then turn on the other screen and see the same thing there. Turning off either should cause the remaining to display all the data. There should not be any need to power up or down in any order.

I think there is a F/W bug that causes sometimes not recognizing devices at power up.

Support,

What do you think?

What do you see under SYSTEM SETUP > NETWORK STATUS when you're seeing this issue?

I think that in both the EMS and the servo case, status showed they were not present at all.

The servo came back good with just two power cycles, no configuration detect needed. The EMS came back only after several attempts with configuration detect and power cycles for one event. On other occasions, the EMS came up faulted and just a power cycle brought it up normal.

Thanks,

Tom

Likewise. Screen 1 was fine but on powering up screen 2 the EMS just didnt feature in the list so I reconfigured and all was well. I put the whole issue on hold untill I resolve the Servo firmware issue.

Richard,

Well not quite. What I am trying to describe is that after many normal power ups, with no change in equipment installed, some equipment is just not seen this time. The missing equipment had been configured long before and used many times.

When this happens, both screens report the same problem. When I make the problem go away, both screens are back to normal.
