Lost HSI+ALT

I just had my DUAL SV system upgraded to include a 2020 GPS, which replaced one of my 2 250 GPS'.  We ran the configuration tests and the new GPS passed the tests (saw 7-8 satellites and has all the other info as well), so I think the 2020 installation was correct.  I'm running the AP in simplified mode.

Upon flying home I could only use the TRK+ALT setting as the HSI+ALT was grayed out.  Can someone here can point me in the right direction on what I need to do, so I can correct this on my next visit to the hangar?  Do I need to set the HSI source somewhere to the 2020 GPS?

Thanks in advance.

Yes
You must have a valid source selected for the HSI See page 8-8 of the 14.0 users guide.

You also need a active flight plan in SkyView. You don't get HSI+ALT if you haven't given it a place to go.

I saw that in the manual before I posted, but I couldn't find anywhere it tells me where to do this. Is it in system setup, local display setup, PFD setup, EMS setup, or MAP setup, or somewhere else?

I did a direct to and tried to set HSI+ALT, but it was grayed out.

Not a setup thing. Go into the PFD menu in fight and press HSI SRC. Or, on a touch screen, just touch the HSI info block that is next to the HSI.
