My D10A was previously working Ok with the EDC, but now can not "see" the EDC-D10A.  Wiring appears Ok but I note in the installation guide there is a warning that "shorting these connections will cause damage to the unit".  For testing purposes I wired up a temporary DB9 plug and perhaps I have screwed up and created a short, maybe because of a loose wire strand in the DB9 plug that may have not been contained in the heatshrink, or an aluminum shaving in the plug.  If there has been a short, is there any way I can test whether this is the problem?  For example what should be the measured voltage on EDC DB9 pins 6 and 1?

First thing to check is whether or not you still have power coming out of the power that's provided for the EDC-D10A. This should be 12Vdc between pins 1 and 6, or at the EFIS itself between pins 12 and 24.

The "Remote Compass Not Detected" message occurred yesterday after I installed V5.0.0.  The DSAB network and SV32 servo worked OK.  However trying again today shows everything is OK and the EDC and OAT are working. :)  The voltage between pins 1 and 6 on the EDC DB9 plug is 16.6V.  Is this correct?

I guess there may have been an intermittent fault in my wiring - I'll double check all the connections.

In retrospect I think it must have been a firmware issue, not a wiring problem.  It occurred after I upgraded to v5.0.0.  Somehow the EDC did not get the new version and the D10A could not detect the EDC.
All sorted out now - thanks :D
