It would be immensely more convenient when using the manuals if the PDF page numbers matched the document page numbers.

Apologies, but that's the nature of the beast in a manual that changes 3-4x per year; the sectional numbering scheme is more efficient (we don't have to renumber everything, every time), and in the application we create the manuals (Microsoft Word), the resulting PDF doesn't allow the option of using the internal page numbering.

If you open the file in Acrobat (ver 9 or later), you can make the page numbering match. In Acrobat, select to see the thumbnails, right click and select numbering from the menu. We make PDF's for manuals via Word all the time and do this to make finding stuff faster. I do it for myself evertime you publish a new manual, just thought you might do it once for all of us especially those with Acrobat reader who wouldn't have this option.
