Map Text Size and Declutter

I've now flown behind a 10" SkyView in my RV-8 for about 4 hours. I love 90% of it but am frustrated by the Map. Too cluttered and the text is too big. Text overlaps onto other text making the text unreadable and useless.
I'll go back into setup again and try to declutter it somehow but if I needed to keep intersections on the map I'd be in trouble.
I also was frustrated by the map pointer. Once I got the pointer it took me a while to get rid of it! I could find nothing in the manual about pressing the joystick in to go back to normal mode.

The text on the map is the size it is because lots of people told us the text was too small in previous software. It's a balance to find the right size.

The overlapping text is an issue. It's something that's on our wish list to make better, but not making text run into other text is actually a very difficult technical problem. The best thing to do at this point is to use the pointer to pan over to an area that you are interested in and zoom in.

Page 7-24 of the SkyView pilot's guide covers use of the map pointer and how to turn it off. The pointer is a newer software feature so make sure your pilots guide is up to date. There's a lot going on in SkyView so admittedly it's easy to miss something in the manual.

Thanks for your feedback and we'll do our best to make it better in the future.
