Dear Support,

I live in Israel and the maps are very basic. Is there a way to load better quality maps with a lot more information?

I've worked hard with PocketFMS to define airspaces and waypoints for you map, but still the general map quality is very basic and I'd like go get more out of my system.

Unfortunately, data sources are limited for many places in the world where aviation doesn't have as much participation (by simple volume of people). I've loaded the Jepp data here, and it looks a little more sparse (which makes sense given that in many parts of the world, they serve primarily business aviation). So you're probably looking at the best available right now. Have you loaded the basemap for your region, by the way, to get a bit more detail on the non-aviation map features in your region?

I did load the base map but its very sparse in details as well. how can we improve the quality of the base map. For example, Airnav allows to load a base map which is very detailed. Which format of base map do you need?

Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple. Basemap data is developed by Dynon from a variety of sources and involves culling very large data sets down to smaller databases that can be stored, processed, and utilized by SkyView while still maintaining good mapping performance. So given the integrated nature of all of that, there isn't an easy way to add to the database. Note that the basemap information is designed to add a bit of detail, but not say, a completely street map, to help pilots orient themselves against major map features (major roads, railroads, cities, etc). What would you like to see in the basemap that isn't already there? Also, note you can change the zoom ranges that basemap data is available at under the MAP MENU > MAP ITEMS menu.

I believe that the level of details that you can find in the US maps will be great.

Garmin also offers fairly basic maps, but they still provide much more granular in terms of roads, rivers, cities and towns and other geographical information which helps with orientation.
