I'm not sure how pedantic this is, but to improve the look of the AH, how about implementing a shaded brown and blue look, as on Avidyne's EX5000 shown below:

I think it look a lot more sophisticated, and since it's all about the user interface, I'd suggest it would greatly increase the appeal of an already awesome product...

Etienne - I'm not too worried about the colour but it does look good. I'm more interetsed in the IAS/Alt value boxes.   On the EX5000, and many other airline displays (see Airbus A320 http://www.e-flight.com/a320pfd.htm),  the position of the current value window draws your eyes to the IAS/Alt value in relation to the values surrounding it but in the Dynon they are at the top - not where the IAS/Alt actually is.  I like the Vertical speed position as well.  It's a shame there isn't an agreed international standard as we enter a new period in piloting where eventualy all instruments will be glass.

Dynon may come back and say its a space issue.

The first point you made about the speed and alt read-outs shouldn't be a space issue - you could put the info areas up at the top instead. As far as the VSI goes, yeah - probably will be space-limited. Someone else suggested using trend indicators (as per the A320) which would provide a very easy-to-use VSI without any extra space needed, and responding the a visual cue rather than a digital readout is so much easier...
