Mounting remote compass

Is it mandatory that the remote compass be mounted with the flange down? In my situation it would be much easier to mount upside down, to the "roof" of the tail cone.

If it must remain right-side-up, I'll have to devise a trickier mounting bracket.

As long as you also mount the EFIS upside down, this will work fine. ;)

In all seriousness, the tabs do need to be down. Every calculation in the EFIS assumes this orientation.
