I aplogize if this information has been covered previously.
1. Will the moving map include airport data/diagrams, taxi procedures and RNAV (approach/departure procedures). If so, will these items be live on-screen with GPS?
2. Website says $500 for moving map, is that correct?
3. Will the map subscriptions be priced like Garmins (high in my opinion), or more reasonably priced.
4. What is the resolution of the terrain map?

The map will be a product that grows over time. So it will likely eventually show taxi diagrams and airport diagrams. But this will probably be at least a year away.

Not sure we will ever do RNAV since it's not certified and thus not legal to use as a primary reference in the USA, so we might spend our energy in other places.

When the map is more functional (around August) it will be $500. Before that we will not charge as we do releases that build up basic functions.

In the US, aviation data is free. Outside the US we are tied to commercial data providers and we don't expect that we will be able to get more of a discount than Garmin does (not that we haven't tried).

The terrain, which is already in the units and working, is 3 arc seconds (a point every 90 meters). Terrain in something like a 696 is 30 arc seconds, or 1/100th the data.

There is a picture of our terrain vs a 696 in this thread:

Will the map still be free if I get the Skyview and am happy with the map features as they exist prior to the $500 upgrade or will the entire map feature be disabled if I do not wish to have the enhanced features? The map does pretty much everything I want now. I am also not interested in the synthetic vision but you have confirmed I can simply choose not to display that.

We don't consider ourselves to have a map today, so nothing that is in a unit today will go away if you don't opt to go for the $500 map.

The $500 map is things like airspace, obstacles, showing airports on SynVis, and doing flight planning. Synthetic vision and all terrain data is in every SkyView at the base price.

We will introduce a version that shows airspace and airports in a few weeks. This is demo, and these features will be free for a while but will then change to pay for features as they develop.

OK, I will ask the question: I am assuming that the map software will also have the normal data fields (Speed, Distance to Waypoint, Time to Waypoint, etc)?

Is this a valid assumption? Tim

Yes. We can also generally display these from a connected GPS even if you don't have the map (assuming it puts it out and you have a waypoint defined in it)
