Possible bug...

Powered up the aircraft this evening in the hangar, the Dynon SV-1000 displayed the splash screen for about 20-30 seconds, then went dark, then brought up the splash screen again and booted apparently normally.

Uploaded new aviation and obstacle databases, then powered down the vehicle. The SV shutdown but without the 30 second warning about switching to the backup battery.

I powered it back up, and checked the backup battery status, and it was charged, and had a message about something like "last shutdown was abnormal" or something like that (I forgot to write it down...)

Shutdown again, and got the normal 30-second countdown and final power-off.

So SkyView does a bunch of self-checks as it boots, and if it detects any of a number of imperfect things during a boot, it retries. This should happen once in a blue moon, if ever. So that's what you were seeing there. One artifact of this process is that the backup battery can be during that power cycle. That's a bug, and thanks for bringing it to our attention.
