I have an RV12 with a dual display - D180 on the left and D100 on the right.  I have the D100 set up to record nautical miles per gallon.  My question is "is this figured using the true airspeed or actual ground speed?"  In other words, does it take into consideration whether or not you have a head wind or tail wind.

Fuel efficiency is calculated against ground speed. It will vary as the winds change even if the fuel rate and TAS stay the same.
