Just fired up a new Titan IO-340 with a new Dynon Sjyview install.

before startup all EGTs read ambient temp (about 59F). Fired up engine and EGTs climb. At high idle of around 800rpm within a minute or so the EGTs all climb up to exactly 442-443F and stop there. Won't climb any higher even if power is increased to 1,800rpm and mixture is leaned out.

Upon shutting the engine down they will drop down to ambient after several minutes as normal.

Sensor mappings are correct. EGT sensors are mapped to the correct thermocouple type. Also my CHT temps work as expected.

Strange. What could cause EGTs to go to exactly 442-443F and stop?

Don't CHT temps usually top out just above 400? I'd double check your sensor assignments but I'm new to Dynon, reading to learn mostly.

CHTs should read past 500. But I see what youre thinking. My sensor mappings are correct and the leads are wired to the correct type. It's hard to screw up with the leads as they are color coded yellow/red for the CHT/EGT probes.

Just found this old thread from 2017 in the archives. he had the same issue I have. Turned out for him to be a bad EMS. He got a replacement and the EGT values worked as expected.

I may have a bad EMS... hmmm. Need to talk with Dynon.

I understand, just wondering how much of an error would be caused by using the incorrect wires

Just spoke with Dynon support. They think a bad EMS may be likely. Shipping me a replacement tomorrow. Will report back after installing the new EMS.
