I have a new Jabiru J430 with dual Dynon HDX's and an Avidyne IFD440 installed, and discovered
that when I switch on the two Dynon EFIS without switching on the engine in order to update avionics
data and flight plans on the ground the Hobbs gets increment with unflown flying time, apparently without
a straight forward way to stop it or bypass it.

Suggestions welcome.

A couple of things to check. Go to SETUP MENU > EMS SETUP > ENGINE INFORMATION and make sure your engine information is correct. You can also manually set your Hobbs and tach time there. The Hobbs should not run unless the oil pressure is above 15 psi or the engine is above zero RPM, so make sure it isn't indicating either of those conditions when the engine isn't running. If it is, you have something configured incorrectly, or there's a problem with your hardware.

Good info, thank you.
