on my last flight I saw a message similar to the title of this post. I should have written it down, it might have been worded similar but different. At the time I did have an altitude dialed in and showing on the EFIS. I searched the manual and did not find this one. Any thoughts on what's going on?

I believe you see a message like that if you're in a VS or IAS mode but the altitude bug is set to a place that can never be achieved. IE, you have the bug at 3000, you're currently at 4000, and you've commanded a climb at 500fpm
