No Enroute Charts

I just turned on my Skyview and was trying to see the sectionals and could not get beyond the layers selection. Other than the terrain. I have updated the Seattle Avionics chip and I can get the airport diagrams and the approach plates. When I went into setup to check the chart status of the enroute  charts it said none. All of the little green balls are green and I get no warning messages. Wazup? After I updated everything and no more warnings I don't remember if I tried to check the layers or not. So I don't know if this is a problem with just this updated version or not. And I don't want to spend another two hours overlayering this if there is some other problem.

Well, guess what, my impatience got the better of me. Even though all the buttons were green and my Skyview said that I had no enroute charts and I did not have any by pushing the layers button, I decided to rerun the program to see what it would do. I selected down load and after about two minutes said I refuse to go through the whole process unless I knew more about where the problem was. Nothing was changed on the screen (all green). I took the chip out of the computer and installed it back in the plane and now I have all my charts. I won't try to figure it out since it works now.

Today is the first day I use Ver 10.1 and with updated IFR chart from Seattle Avionics. I couldn't find the low level enroute chart that I thought 10.1 would support, do you know how to get that? and what does "layers" buttom for? it's new to me.

The layers soft key is where you select the sectional chart (or terrain, enroute). You must have your thumbdrive attached. The doc at this link is a good read ;)

Jon,

Thank you for the link to the latest user guide, I sure didn't see low level enroute chart under Layers, I had a little trouble downloading chart data from Seattle Avionics, may be the chart wasn't complete.

I'll try it again tonight.

On your users manual Rev.Q page 7-9 is a picture of your Seattle Avionics info. All of the balls should be green that you are subscribed to which is the way mine were and the layers still did not go past terrain initially until did my little 2 minute re-install in frustration and like magic it decided to work. On page 7-24 it tells you how the layers should work. You might also go into the set-up (buttons 7&8) and see if your enroute  charts are there. That's what I did initially and they weren't there although all of the approach plates and airport diagrams were. When your'e in the set-up looking for the enroute charts make sure you turn the knob all the way to the bottom to find the enroute charts. Humm. I wonder how I found that out.

I have had less than stellar performance from SA's Data Manager - saying my drive was updated when it wasn't, etc. I did not have to adjust anything in my SV menu to get charts. Once they were loaded on the thumb drive, they appeared in the layers menu.
