No NAV mode on AP

I have a Garmin 695 connected to D100 with A74. Still running 5.1. Autopilot performance is Fantastic - steady as a rock in all but bad turbulence. However it only works in HDG or TK modes. When I try to engage NAV the red indicator light does not come on and mode does not engage. (Light tests OK so it is connected)

I am getting GPS data on the HSI page but no CDI on EFIS page. (it is selected on in CLUTTR). Performance good in TK which suggests connection to GPS is good, but why no NAV?

Any ideas?

If you look close on your HSI, you probably don't have a CDI bar at all - or, it's always pointing North. In any case, the solution is basically to make sure that under the Advanced NMEA menu, Data Rate is set to "normal".
