Thanks for the link to the other topic, krw!
FYI -- here is that post -- and hello from Sun 'n Fun!
Hi,
We believe we've found and resolved the issue. As I expected, it was NOT a bug in the data itself or in the ChartData Manager or in SkyView but with the generation of something called a "keyfile" that verifies that the actual data file is genuine.
With exceptional assistance from the great tech support and development teams downstairs (that is, Dynon), we believe we've identified, resolved, and verified the fix. It simply requires a very small download and manual unzip. To be clear, we tested the fix on Dynon test machines not on actual customer units so we'd appreciate feedback from you to confirm that the fix worked.
1. Download:
http://chartdata.seattleavionics.com/charts/1604/us/lo/DynonKeyLO.zip
2. Unzip the contents (59 tiny files) to your USB stick (s) to the \ChartData directory on the stick. You'll know you have the right directory if you see lots of files like *Dynon.key
The corrected "key" files have been uploaded to our server so anyone downloading from this point forward will get the correct files.
We deeply apologize for the issue. This particular scenario had never come up before and we had no technical way to validate the keyfiles (they're generated with a Dynon-supplied key generator). We're working with them now to get a validator system put into place so we can be certain this does not happen again.
We'd also like to offer anyone affected by the issue 3 free months of data as a small way of apologizing. Please send as email to CustomerService@seattleavionics.com if this affected you.
Sincerely,
Steve
