Yesterday I installed the OAT probe in my RV-9.
When I opened the manual to connect the wires it tells me to "Crimp female pins into the yellow and red wires but leave the blue wire/shield combination bare. Plug the yellow wire into pin 2 on the female D9 connector which mates with the EDC-D10A. Plug the red wire into pin 7. Connect the blue wire/shield combination to the same ground that feeds the EDC-D10A through Pin 1.”
The problem is the wiring harness I purchased from you and made by SteinAir doesn't match up to these directions.
The OAT wires are both white with black stripes and the StineAir wiring harness had me connect the remote compass wires in the following manor:
White/Oragne - Pin 5
White/Blue - Pin 6
White/Green - Pin 9
White - Pin 1
What have I done wrong? Where do I connect the OAT probe to? Sounds like I will need to cut some pins off and crimp two wires to one pin to tie in to the compass, is that right?
