Hi..need a little assistance...
having sold my old plane complete with a D10A system which has been faultless over the last 12 years, I have purchased a used plane with a D100 and D180 installation without autopilot.

I have updated the software successfully to the latest version.

I cannot get the system OAT automatically on the D100, and therefore cannot see winds aloft whilst the D180 is good.

have read and tried re configuring without success...
any suggestions appreciated

If memory serves the D100 installation manual covers this.
OAT ties to the bus master. BM has to be the D180 in your setup.
You must have 2 remote compasses, one for each box. Put an OAT probe on the D100 one.
OATs aren't very expensive and don't weigh much. The redundancy would be a good move!

I think... :-?

In addition to the above (which is correct), make sure that on the EFIS-D100 you have SETUP > OAT > INSTALLED: N. Otherwise the D100 will try to look for its own OAT. You may need to do a network configuration after that to get everything sync'd up.

thank you both for the replies.....

It seems that the D180 should have been installed in the P1 position and the D100 on the passenger side..

how easy would it be to add second EDC-10 remote compass and an OAT sensor..

would I have to break into existing cable looms (Steinair I believe) or is it adding new looms?

question for Dynon: can you tell from the serial numbers shown in the above pictures, if the units have the superbright screens please

many thanks

They both look to be superbright based on s/n.

As for the separate EDCs, it really depends on how everything was wired - whether or not there's already a connector for the EDC in the other display.

But, no matter which display is on which side, once DSAB'd together, you can use the D100 on the left just like the D180. From a functional perspective they'll both act like D180s when they're connected. You'll want to change the screen rotation on the D100, but that's all you'll really need to do.

they are DSAB'ed now but no OAT on the D100, just the option to set the OAT manually, which means no winds aloft (without leaning across and gleaning the info from the D180)..

again thanks for the comments

Once you have them DSAB'd with the D180 as the master and the D100's OAT set to uninstalled you should be seeing the same OAT on the D100 as is provided by the D180. Did you try doing a fresh DSAB configure from the D180 AFTER you had disabled the D100's OAT option?
