OAT not found

Good Morning!

I FINALLY INSTALLED MY oat (2 wires black and white stripes). And got the above error. Of course I don't know what type of sensor I have but I could not get the EFIS 100 to detect it on any setting.

The volts I measured at the tail of the wiring going back to the EDC (at least I think thats where it goes) was 4.5V. I measured the resistance across the OAT and got an open circuit on the 200 and 2k ohm range, but got 9.98 on the 20K ohm range...Looked pretty strange.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Frank

Frank, is this for an EFIS or an EMS?

The EFIS OAT is three wires and the EMS OAT is two wires. You can't use the EMS two wire OAT on an EFIS. It sounds like you have the EMS OAT and are trying to hook it to an EFIS-D100 and this won't work.

If you bought from us an ordered an EFIS OAT we'll get it replaced for you, or if you ordered from a dealer you'll need to work with them to get the right part.

Oh...er...well I have both an EMS and an EFIS....I bought the whole package from yourselves and I only ran two wires so it sounds like my wiring is connected to the EMS.

That might explain why the EFIS can't find it....:)

Thanks

Frank,

First you need to tell the EMS that you have an OAT. This info is in the manuals for the EMS.

Once this is working, if you hook up the DSAB wires between the EFIS and EMS and run our latest software, the EMS can send the OAT to the EFIS.
