I've installed 2 dynon 2-pin OAT probes. One is reading OAT and the other the temperature inside the cowl.

With OAT around zero degrees C, it was reading 13 degrees. Both of the sensors were doing this.

In setup if i choose between type 1 and type 2, it makes no difference- same readings.

Which Dynon product? Where are they connected? And which setup menu settings are you adjusting?

Hi,

Sorry it has been so long, i never received any notification of a reply.

I have an EMS-D10A with 2x Dynon 2 wire OAT probes. I have tried them set as every different type under the OAT setup menu, i think they are on type 2 now. They are connected to GP1 and GP2.

The outside air is in a guaranteed cold air stream. The one inside the cowl is obviously much hotter. They tend to read very similar readings, typically at least 10 degrees C too hot.

The sender has black & white wires.

So if you have an EMS-D10, there is only one "OAT" supported. You can set up another as "GP Temp". The correct sensor type is 1 for both. Beyond that, there was an issue a while back that caused some OATs to read incorrectly. Give our tech support a call at 425-402-0433 and they can help you diagnose whether there is actually something up with your OAT probes.
