Since I have 2 Skyview displays I installed 2 OAT probes
I recently moved on from inside the NACA scoop on my RV-7A to the back of the fuselage underneath the horizontal stab. I heated the probe to see if it was recording a higher temp but nothing changed temperature showed actual outside temp (8 C) but when I heated the other probe the temp went up. I hope I did not damage the probe I moved

Robert,

Do you have two ADAHRS boxes also?  The OAT is supposed to be plugged into the ADAHRS.  To what is the non-responding OAT connected?

If you have two ADAHRS, only one is "feeding" the system at a time, so the "back-up ADAHRS" temp would not be displayed.  IOW both screens should show the same data all the time, the data from the primary ADAHRS.  This is explained in the Installation Manual.

Robert:

If you install multiple ADAHRS, and also install the corresponding OAT probes, the SkyView System will choose one of the ADAHRS to be Primary, and display that unit's OAT.

If you want to change which ADAHRS is Primary (and thus display that unit's OAT):

SETUP MENU > PFD SETUP > ADAHRS SOURCE SELECTION > (choose one).

The one that is currently primary is shown as PRIMARY and the OAT that's being displayed is tagged as (OAT).

If you did damage the OAT by heating it excessively, a replacement SV-OAT-340 is $65 from Dynon Avionics.
