I have a newly installed Skyview but the oil temp on my Rotax 912 takes ages to reach 50 deg C (min for power checks). In flight it rarely goes above 55 and when power is reduced it drops to mid 40s and in a descent it settles at about 35. In my Rotax experience these temps are displayed at the same time I would expect to see twice the figure. I am sure I selected Kavlico sensor (as that's what I have) - is it possible the wrong selection might yield a decreased reading of this magnitude ?

I will remove the sensor and try it in boiling water to see if it reads 50 as suspected or if it's fine then it should read 100 and I need to blank off my oil cooler as it's doing way to good a job !

So Kavlicos are pressure, for oil temperature, the temperature sensor is pre-installed. However, the first thing I'd check is that the oil temperature setup in your EMS pin mapping setup is set to the Rotax type.
