Oil temp probe setting in mapping.

I have just bought a Europa with a 10 inch sky view and had issues with the oil temp. I noticed the oil temp before running was higher than the ambient temp and within 2 to 3 mins of running it was up to 50 or 60 deg C. On climb out I was getting readings of 120 deg which was alarming.

I changed the wire over from the CHT and Oil temp and the oil temp was much more sensible and CHT way high.

Checking the mapping it eas set to Rotax CHT OIL 801 10 01

I have changed the sensor map to 1/8 27 NPT fluid temp 100409 -00 and the readings are sensible and in line with what I expect.

The sensor I’m using for both CHT and OIl temp is the standard rotax one. Could anyone please confirm if this makes sense and is the sensor that should have been selected.

Thanks
Kev

The answer is probably yes, but.......

Which Skyview version? Some require inline resistors.
I'm guessing it's a Rotax engine? Which one? Is there a CAN BUS?
Is the sensor actually a Dynon 10049-000, or is it something else?

Hi. It’s the 912uls. Not sure if there is a cab bus but it single screen and no AP so I think maybe not. The sensor is the standard rotax one as far as I’m aware it’s the same as the CHT and the spade terminal slides on it. I’m sure it’s overdue a firmware update and last owner bought it a didn’t really use the plane hence trying to figure it out. Regards Kev
