I am working on a high oil temp problem (IO-360 // D120). I went back to check the tags to make sure I have the right sensor number defined. Couldn't find the tags. Is there a way to tell by looking if it is a 1 or 2 (-001 or -000) sensor? The number stamped on the sensor ends in 000. What is the difference in readings between the two?

The sensor came in the standard 4 cyl Lycoming FI Sensor Package.

If it's a 5/8 fitting, it's type 1. If 1/8, it's type 2. Basically, if it fits on your Lycoming, it's a type 1.

At ambient, measure the resistance, note the OAT, and post back. We can tell you if it's working right, at least at ambient.

Also make sure you have the latest firmware. REALLY old versions of firmware had an issue with the oil temperature calibration in the units.
