on screen timer/stop watch

Would it be possible to impliment an on screen stop watch for use in
IFR conditions.
It seems that the use of a couple buttons on the
display to control a- -
stop watch would be a clean set up and prevent the need to carry a sports type stop watch for precision turns and such. Another option I would like to see would be the ability to wire the controls for S/W to my military stick grips.
The SV 1000s in my RV7 are fantastic but it would make IFR a little less work if this idea were implimented.

Man this is a great idea. A stopwatch/timer controlled by either a screen or remote button.
