I would like to paint the GPS antenna that came with my Dynon Skyview. Is there any problem with painting the white antenna to black? I plan on using a off the shelf rattle can black no gloss paint.

Thanks for any advice,

Tom

Covering the GPS with anything (even paint) reduces it's ability to receive signals, however minimally. In practice, it may not be noticeable in the real world, but the signal reception is measurably less. So - you'll probably be OK; we don't recommend it just the same.

can it give a problem with the temperature?
we will install the antenna on top of the instrument panel, it shines in the cock-pit in this flashy white

The storage temperature spec is -40C to 70C, and operating spec is -40 to +60C. It's really designed to be outside, where it can get air flow, but you should probably be fine mounting it as you're thinking of doing (people have done it this way before). If you're in a real hot climate, you may be able to heat soak it beyond these ranges. Anyway, there's all the data.
