Parallel wiring for 9-pin port for D100 and D-10A?

I'm installing a D-10A into my airplane that already has a D100. The D-10A harness came with the standard 9-pin port wired in for updates. Do I need to use that 9-pin port, or can I remove the port and wire the three wires that go to it into the existing 9-pin port that goes to my D100? (I'm concerned most about the transmit line).

If that wiring scheme is OK, when I do updates, I figure I'll update only one unit at a time, and have the second unit off while the first is updated.

Is that the way to go, or do I:

1. Need to use both 9-pin ports...or...
2. Use one 9-pin port, but run the transmit line via a switch to select which unit gets updated.

Or does DSAB magically fix this and I can update either once they are networked?

A bit confused on this one, and can't find it in the install manual or previous threads. Thanks for the help!

Cheers,
Bob

Re: Parallel wiring for 9-pin port for D100 and D-

You still need both D-9 ports and you need to use the correct one for each unit. You can't wire them together (even if one EFIS is off during an update), and updates don't occur over DSAB.

Thanks very much...I'll proceed as such. Appreciate the feedback!!
