I am having difficulty getting my PC to communicate with the d180.
Have followed all the help items with no success.
Not sure how to check the wiring to the 232.
Wiring harness was supplied by Van's, RV-12 build.
Have tried two laptops. Second one has a 232 port which I use for download on my engine data manager-EDM-700. So I don't think there is a problem with the PC.
Any Thought or suggestions?

If you check the continuity from the vertical DB25 on the D180 and the D9 that you're trying to use to update the D180, you should have continuity between the following pairs of pins:

D25 Pin   D9 Pin
   9<--> 5
   10 <--> 2
   22 <--> 3

Try using the connector behind the panel on the D180 Harness instead of the one in the RV12 Tunnel. Van's revised the wiring at one point on the RV12 and abandoned the one in the tunnel. It may not be connected to anything....
