Percent Power not being calculated

I have V.4x software on D100/D120 combination:

  • OAT is via magnetometer, and reads correctly
  • O-320 engine, set rpm ranges, and compression ratio --> 8.5:1
  • have fuel flow meter, and seems to be reading correctly
  • have MAP and it seems to be displaying correctly
  • have RPM and it seems to be displaying correctly

I can display the percent power on the screen, but it displays only "% --", not actually calculating the percent power.

What am I missing?

This is a new installation so would like to continue troubleshooting with V4 if possible.

Since your OAT is on your EFIS, that's probably not getting over to the EMS. The % power also needs altitude from the EFIS, so we really need to make sure that connection is working.

First thing is to go through all of your GP inputs on your EMS and make sure none are set to OAT, since we want to use the EFIS OAT.

Then try re-doing a DSAB configuration, which should re-learn everything.

Also, the % power will only show up with the engine running, so don't expect to see 0% on the ground with the engine off.

I must add that I also have a H34 in the mix.

The DSAB seems to be working well, since I can easily swap screens from D100 to D12 and vice versa.

Engine is running and airplane is flying. All seems to work except the percent power. I will check to see if there are any settings for another temperature sensor (I do have the carb temp sensor installed, and it works fine).

FYI, All three units (including magnetometer) were updated to software version 4.1 (I believe that was the revision number) several months ago.

Everything in your setup sounds fine and should work. I bet the only issue is the OAT config, so give that a shot.

Only one analog input is configured for the OAT. Checked all the other analog inputs for the D-100, HS-34, and D-120, and none were configured for an OAT.

Update:

Had DSAB reconfigure itself, and it all works now. I had configured the DSAB previously when the wings were not attached (thus the OAT was not connected). It found it on the D-100, however the other units did not see it.

Interesting that one must reconfigure the DSAB if a sensor is added or removed. I'll have to remember that.

Thanks again.
