Hi,

I bought a used D-180 (SN 1460) and updated it to 5.5.0. The remote compass has SN 6036.

I appears the pitch setup and the compass aren't saved when the EFIS is turned off. Could that be a bad internal battery?

Thanks,

Holger

Could you explain a bit more about the specifics of the problem?

All parameters of that nature are saved in non-volatile (flash) memory, not battery-backed memory. The internal backup battery is primary used to operate the FlightDEK-D180 in case of loss of avionics power. We don't save settings changes into non-volatile memory because it only has a limited number of "write cycles".

Such settings are only saved when you "gracefully" exit the menus. If you are changing the settings, then immediately removing power, without pressing the BACK and EXIT buttons, what you're observing is normal behavior.
