Pitch issues

I have an RV10 with Skyview Classic and a SV42T pitch. Software 15.4.7. AP had been working perfectly for 5 years until recently.

Pitch was showing slip and not holding attitude. Discovered that the shear screw was sheared so replaced it. Calibrated and tested fine - controls move smoothly and correctly to the corners. However, on the ground and in the air, pitch will not move correctly - slips and judders.

I disassembled the servo and could find no obvious fault (it’s well out of warranty and easy to do!). Refitted, recalibrated and tested, reloaded software - same result.

I’m stumped as to why it moves smoothly under test mode but not when I use the AP. I suspect a software issue. I see a “bug” mentioned in another thread describing similar symptoms. Could this be the problem?

Paul, BIG MISTAKE

That servo will have to go back to Dynon to be recalibrated. You cannot open them up and monkey around and put them back together.

I am not sure if there is another fault that you have not found but that servo is now toast. Yes I am serious and no.....I am not kidding. (just pre-emptive answers for the obvious questions).

Pack it up and ship it off.
