Installing the servo and pushrod for the pitch control on an RV-7A, and the bolt through the bellcranks/pushrod bearing is a drilled head bolt.

How do you safety wire this bolt?

You don't need to if using a nylock nut ;) I never use a drilled head bolt, no need to & lockwiring is not practical. ;)

Anyone using a castle nut and cotter key for this bolt? I don't see anything to safety wire it to except the bellcrank and I don't want to drill there. And, safety wiring the drilled bolt head does nothing to ensure the nut doesn't turn. A locknut is good but is a castle nut a better choice?

Go with the nylock nut, it's standard practice for most bolts in shear applications & autopilot pushrod to bellcranks as well.

You will find that Dynon supplies most of its AN hardware with drilled heads. It just makes it easier and more economical to stock one type of bolt. If the AN365 Nylock nut is provided then no safety wire is required.
