Pitch slip

Just curious what others' experiences are...I have done the servo tuning procedure once, and it seems ok most of the time. However, I oftentimes see "Pitch slip" notifications, but if I disconnect the pitch axis, the aircraft seems in pretty good trim, very little deviation from altitude.

Occasionally, it gets into a very weird mode where it starts doing little back-and-forth jerks on the servo, while sometimes simultaneously announcing "Trim Up" "Trim Down" "Trim Up" "Trim down" over and over. Disconnecting and re-engaging and its fine. This is disconcerting to me and my passengers, obviously.

I'll do the tuning procedure again, just in case something is not right there, but does anyone see anything similar to these two (possibly related, but who knows?) issues?

On the plus side, when it's working, which is most of the time, it works *great*. Flew a fully-coupled ILS approach the other night for practice, and it was smooth as silk all the way down the glideslope...

My pitch servo has the same annunciation telling me to rim down or up and a similar result when I disconnect in that the aircraft is pretty well trimmed. Otherwise solid as a rock most of the time except for my current failure mode which I need to investigate.

Steve - The trim up / down features aren't tied to the calibration, but we have improved the trim detection behavior over time. What version of software are you on? If the latest, we it might indicate an issue with the servo.

Eddie - same question for you.

It's the latest software. What can I do to troubleshoot this and help you get the info you need?

If it's a servo problem, I can live with it until annual CI in March, but meantime, let me know what tests I can run to help figure it out.
