Hello,

I always fly with the moving map in the North up mode. But I remark that the little plane icon is always on the center of the screen. This method of icon placement don’t allow for the maximum view ahead of the aircraft. It would be better for this icon to be on the bottom of the screen to allow for the maximum view ahead of the aircraft at the given direction of travel. Is it possible for you to add it in a very soon release ?
Thank you

Sorry, I made a mistake. The bottom is for the icon in track up mode. For the North up mode, It Depends on the Heading. The fix icon should be placed on one of the 8 positions (up left, up right, up center, bottom left, bottom right, bottom center). For example, if the Heading is 45°, the fix icon is placed on
the bottom left part of the screen. I had this mode in my old AVmap EKP IV.

So I'm not sure I'm following what you're desiring in your proposed solution, but the idea here is:

-If you're track-up, put the airplane lower on the screen to maximize visibility of what's in front of you.
-If you're north-up, center the airplane so that you have good visibility in all directions no matter what direction the airplane is facing (because in this case, it can be pointed anywhere with the map orientation stationary).

Yes I understand, but in the the North-up mode, center the plane don't optimize the air space. I would prefer to have the maximum visibility in front of me. the path behind me is not useful. Read the user manual of the Avmap EKPIV Gps and look the picture :

"During North - up mode the Screen Amplifier is active. Depending on the Heading, the fix icon
is placed on one of the 8 positions. For example, if the Heading is 45°, the fix icon is placed on
the bottom left part of the screen (see Fig. 3.5.5). This method of icon placement allows for the
maximum view ahead of the aircraft at the given direction of travel."

I think that would be great! In track up would it be in the ceter or bottom middle position?

Although what is behind you may not matter much normally, what about in an emergency? The closest airport may be behind you and off the screen.
