I just installed Powerflarm. I was told by Powerflarm support to make the config file with the following settings: Garmin TIS, protocol V6, baudrate 9600. With these settings I was unable to make it work.
From another Powerflarm user I got a different baud setting:4800.

In the Skyview FW5.1 serial settings I can choose Garmin TIS but then I can not change the baudrate to 4800. If I choose Flarm I can change the settings and then it seems to work (Flarm indication on the map display).

Is it correct to use the "Flarm" setting or do I still need to select "Garmin TIS"? (Is the Flarm also ADS-B or only the Flarm part?)

Regards, Joeri.

The flarm setting is the one we have to support "flarm" format devices, but many flarm format devices can also output Garmin TIS protocol (because it's become sort of a standard). I bet your device (which one is it?) can output both, and is currently set to flarm format output.

So Skyview has now native support for Flarm?
Not mentioned in the manual?
Can there be both a Garmin TIS device (i.e. ADS-B receiver) and Flarm connected simultaniously into separate serial ports?
How does the traffic indicate availability?

It's in both the latest SkyView Installation and User's guides, actually. There are a couple of compatibility problems with the TM-250 and TRX-1500 in particular which should be fixed in our next software update.

Yes to your second question - you can connect multiple traffic devices, however, only one is shown at a time. TIS format devices are prioritized above flarm format devices.

Traffic availability is annunciated via a status area on the map page. See the latest version of the SkyView Pilots User Guide at http://docs.dynonavionics.com for details.

Sorry, I had missed the information in the manual. Because there are several manufacturer terminology and models, I would double check; do you support the Flarm native protocol, i.e. PFLAA/PFLAU messages sent by a Flarm device or while referring to TRX-1500 do you mean the TIS protocol it outputs (Garmin format)?
Also while connecting both a ADS-B receiver and a flarm device into the Skyview system, why do you use traffic from one device only?
ADS-B receiver would provide (in Europe) traffic from S-mode ES A/Cs and Flarm from for example sailplanes/gliders.

You mean that V6,0 will solve the problem with the "flarmOffline" problems on TRX-1500?

The generic "flarm protocol" looks for those sentences, indeed. The TM250 uses that format, though, there's some subdle incompatibility in what we're looking for today in those sentences vs what is actually coming out of the TM250.

The TRX-1500 should have been mapped to TIS, as most people have it set to output TIS (though it can do both), but we erroneously used the above protocol. So currently, all of the flarm, TM250, and TRX-1500 look for the flarm format in the form of the PFLAA/PFLAU sentences.

In 6.0, the flarm protocol will get some tweaks that should fix the TM250 incompatibility, and the TRX-1500 will use the TIS format. In the mean time, you SHOULD (unconfirmed) be able to select the generic Garmin TIS format listing to be able get data from the TRX-1500.

I have the core and it finally works. I initially received the wrong settings from the PowerFlarm support.

Settings powerflarm http://www.butterfly-avionics.com/index.php/de/produkte/powerflarm/powerflarm-core-config
Data sentences D-SUB9 - GARMIN TIS
Data sentences protocol - default(use for Garmin)
Baudrate - 9600

Settings Skyview:
Local Display Setup/Serial Port Setup/Choose serial port/Serial in - Garmin TIS, serial out-none
Transponder setup /TIS Traffic-On(USA only)    <- you have to select this also for Europe
Traffic Setup - All
System Setup/Audio Setup/Traffic - Voice

Now I need some targets  ;D
